The Wolfpack...
We have recently been ordered to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). We will begin to move the entire battalion into Iraq very shortly. We're being tasked to cover an area South of Baghdad until we are replaced by an Army unit. This turnover is scheduled to take place in sufficient time to make our original deployment timeline.
Know that your Marines are ready for this. They are among the most trained and equipped elements to have ever entered theatre. As you all know, these men of the Wolfpack take great care of each other, wherever they go. I expect nothing less of them when we hit the deck in Iraq. I have no doubts that they will conduct themselves like the true professionals that they are. Trust that the Pack will begin to write its own chapter in Marine Corps history. Semper Fidelis.

Your commitment is an inspiration to more people than you can know. My prayers are with you.
Oceanside will miss you in your absence, will wish safety for you while you are gone, will hope for a successful mission and a speedy return.
