More Less Than Lethal Training...

More Less Than Letha Trainingl...

As you'll see in this collage, Less Than Lethal training includes, but definitely is not limited to, riot control, unarmed manipulations, and strikes.

This training was run by Sgt Dyas: On the left, you'll see SSgt Sanchez utilizing pressure points to control Cpl Doan. Top right, the Pack is using shields to practice riot control. Bottom right, LCpl Davis moves to strike LCpl Heuman holding the pad.

Less Than Lethal Training...

This is a collage of photos taken during the Wolfpack's Less Than Lethal (LTL) training conducted on December 30th. Although these Marines are trained with the latest tactics, techniques, and procedures for all-out war, they also train to regulate uncertain situations by non-lethal means.

Top left, you'll see Cpl Martinez at the end of his volunteering to be demonstrator. Bottom left, the entire Wolfpack is practicing strikes. Top right, the Pack practices riot control with shields. Bottom right, Cpl Clark strikes a bag held by LCpl Alderete.

Another Shot of Fast Roping...

This shot shows the height from which the Pack was fast roping. You can see where the maintenance is done on the helicopters under the flight deck. The Hangar is also where the Wolfpack does a lot of its concurrent training.

Fast Roping...

Fast Roping...

On December 18th, the Wolfpack practiced fast roping from the back of a CH-46. Fast roping is a technique used when a Landing Zone cannot supportthe he licopter to touch down on the deck. The means of insertion is extremely quick and aggressive.

Cpl Petterson (Giving the Wolfpack Sign), Cpl Sullivan, and Sgt Ross on liberty. These men, along with the rest of the Wolfpack, were allowed off the ship for three days. Although the days were broken by MEU(SOC) formations aboard ship, the Marines were able to get away from the busy work days and enjoy the fruits of Hawaii.

No Time Wasted...

No Time Wasted...

The Wolfpack wasted no time getting right to training. They're up before sunrise and ready to work. On Saturday, December 11th, they conducted a live fire shoot off the ship's flight deck.

Where We Are...

The Wolfpack is located on the largest ship in the ESG-5 (Expeditionary Strike Group), the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6). The BHR is the Flagship of the ESG and houses the entire MEU(SOC) command element. The ship is capable of conducting flight operations off the flight deck and amphibious operations from the well deck.

In summary, this ship is equipped with the most aggressive assets the MEU(SOC) has to offer. The Wolfpack is at the tip of the spear.
